UTAGAWA Shokoku (real name : Tadashi GOINO)

Is an artist and researcher of Van Gogh. His paintings demonstrate his research.

UTAGAWA Shokoku exhibited his works alongside ukiyo-e prints from the Edo period (1603 - 1867) at the Hermitage as well as other museums in the world.

He endeavours to illustrate the relation between Japanese culture and the Impressionist paintings.

In 2003, he was conferred "Chevalier de l'ordre des arts and des letters" in France.

Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Academician of the Spanish Royal

Academy of Pharmacy, and etc.

These oil paintings are sold at 600,000 yen by a point (16cm X 22cm) in Japan.
